We are building on past water studies and working with local stakeholders to identify potential water sources and assess future supply needs and options.

Regional water assessments aim to:

  • better understand local water needs now and in the future
  • identify opportunities to improve water security
  • support economic growth through investment in water

The Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers is undertaking public consultation on the draft Central Queensland Regional Water Assessment (RWA) findings and recommendations. Community organisations and the public are welcome to review the draft report and provide feedback on the assessment process, findings and recommended future actions.

This is your opportunity to let us know what you think looks right or what might need adjusting in the draft Central Queensland RWA Summary Report.

The Central Queensland RWA is funded by the Australian Government.

Please note: The draft Central Queensland RWA has not been reviewed or approved by the Queensland Government and is not an endorsed policy or commitment. All public feedback will be considered in the final version.

If the recommended options progress, there may be more opportunities to have your say about specific projects.
